FAQ's

Do I need to be able to paint?
Absolutely not!  Our art instructors will teach you how to mix colors and create a painting using step-by-step instructions and often on a pre-sketched canvas.  Throughout the class, they will assist you with your painting.  There is no judging, only fun!  In fact, our primary goal is for you to have fun; come with an open mind and you'll leave with a personal painting and more importantly, an amazing experience!  We do offer constructive criticism if you would like to help better your painting and skills.
How do I register for a Class?
View the Event Calendar and choose the painting class you'd like to attend. Make sure you make note of WHICH studio the class you sign up for is located and WHAT TIME your class starts.  Each event includes the date, time, location, and pricing.  If you are attending with a group purchasing tickets separately, please name your group so we can note the people you would like to sit with.  We do assigned seating since we often have multiple groups.  It is best for the first person in your group that registers to create a group name and share with everyone else what the group name is.  WE CAN NOT GUARANTEE SEATING PLACEMENT IF YOU DO NOT INDICATE YOUR GROUP UPON CHECKOUT.  We can not guarantee seating placement for last minute registrations (day of class) as our table assignments may already be determined.  Whenever possible, we place groups together, so moving the night of class may not be possible.  If calendar is blocked from registration, the studio has been reserved for a private party.
When should I arrive for class?
We will be prepping for class 30 minutes before class start time, due to Covid we ask that you not enter until 15 min prior to class starting.   This will give you time to settle in, eat, drink, and socialize.  We promptly start our classes.  If you are late, you will need to catch up with minimum assistance.  For the respect of our other guests and are artist instructors, please make every effort to arrive early.
What can I expect when I arrive and during the class?
At Warner Robins, we have a large shared parking lot within the shopping center.  At Perry, we have a small parking lot, please park as efficiently as you can.  Any additional parking can be found near the road on Clinchfield in the grass, or across the street in the large parking lot.  Just be careful walking over.  Live nearby and have a golf cart?  Park in the grass near the fence in the back of the studio.

When you arrive at Lush Art Studio, you will be greeted by one of our Lush Artists, Assistants, or maybe even one of our Lush Club members.  You will find your space which will be on a post it note with your name on it, put your things down, order a drink in WR or bring a drink in Perry, relax until class starts.  If you are coming with friends, you MUST create a group and make a note so we will know to seat you together.  If you do not let us know you are in a group (at booking), we can not guarantee you'll be able to sit together.  We have assigned seating based on registrations.

Once class starts, your Lush Artist will show you step-by-step how to paint the selected art work using guidance and encouragement.  Breaks will be provided throughout the class and by the end of the session, you will have a beautiful piece of art work to take home.  Not to mention an amazing experience you'll be talking about until the next time you join us!

Due to Covid we are limiting seating to half capacity.  Some classes will be small and some will be full, each provides an unique experience.

Please keep in mind our time is limited (most classes are two hours) and public classes are shared with others, so you may need to help anyone in your party needing special assistance during events.  If you are coming with someone with sight or hearing limitations please make a note and we will try and seat your party closer to the front.  Lush Art strives to help everyone, but some children and elderly require more hands on help than we can provide in our class setting.

On rare occasions, you may need to take your painting with you if you are not able to keep up with class.
Does Lush Art offer offsite events and parties?
On occasion.  We prefer to do all events on site at our gorgeous studios which have been specifically designed for what we offer.  Our space was designed for our classes and to make your event easier by using our space.  We do occasionally team up with other local businesses and teach in their facility.
Does Lush Art only offer painting classes?
Lush Art may offer other types of event occasionally; however, they will follow a format similar to the one for painting classes.
Can I request different colors than pictured?
Yes, but you must do so upon checkout (in advance) so that the other colors aren't poured for you.  It is often not recommended to make changes (unless it is an option we are offering for that particular painting), if you are a beginner painter.  You will be responsible for deciding which colors to use where, and our artist instructors will not be able to make specific instructions for you throughout the class, as it confuses our other painters.
Can I bring someone under 18 years old to any class?
Some of our classes are not recommended for minors.  We like to offer a variety so adults can feel they can be themselves.  We always state on the individual listing what our recommended age minimum is for a class. We also occasionally have a family day for younger painters and family members.
What do I need to bring to a class?
All you need to do is show up and have an open mind. We will provide everything you need to paint, including a canvas, paint, brushes, and apron.
Can I bring food and beverages?
Yes, we encourage you to bring your own food and non alcoholic beverages.  Lush Art of Warner Robins is licensed to sell alcoholic beverages (beer and wine by the bottle).  Warner Robins prohibits BYOB of alcohol.  Lush Art of Perry is licensed for BYOB.  All beverages must be brought with you, we do not sell any drinks at Perry.

When bringing your own food you must provide your own paper plates, utensils, glasses, napkins, and ice.

NOTE:  Anyone buying alcohol at the studio in Warner Robins must drink responsibly.  Our license is strictly for selling beer and wine, we do not pour or serve.  You are responsible for your intake.  Anyone bringing alcohol to Perry must drink responsibly.  You are responsible for your intake.  By signing up for classes you release Lush Art of any liability for your actions.  NO HARD ALCOHOL IS ALLOWED AT EITHER STUDIO.  We want everyone to have a terrific time, but your safety comes first.  Please assign a DD or have someone pick you up if you plan to LUSH it up.  UBER and LYFT are your friends!
What type of paint do you use?
We use acrylic paints which are non-toxic and water soluble.  They dry very quickly so your painting will likely be dry by the time you are ready to leave.
What should I wear?
We recommend you wear clothing that you would not mind getting soiled since acrylic paints do not always come out of clothing after they dry.  We also provide the use of our aprons which will help protect your clothes.  APRONS ARE NOT AVAILABLE CURRENTLY DUE TO COVID.
Can someone attend the class without registering?
Everyone who attends our classes must be registered through our website. It is distracting to our painters to have non painters making comments and observing.  All attendees need to be paying, registered painters.
Can I rent your space for a private party both with and without art instruction?
Yes, in addition to paint parties, our space makes a great venue for other events.  You may cater or bring your own food.  Please visit our PRIVATE EVENTS page for more information.
What are your studio hours?
Our Studio Manager is at our WR studio Monday through Friday from 8 am until 11 am.  Our other hours vary, depending on our events calendar.  But generally we are open 6ish to 9ish Monday-Saturday.
can i start with a blank canvas?
Unless otherwise noted, all classes start with a pre-sketched canvas. If you'd prefer a blank canvas (not a pre-sketched one), please make a note of that when you book, or send us an email and let us know.  You are welcome to bring your own brushes and paint as well, however this will not adjust the cost of class. You can also request different colors, if you send a note upon checkout.

POLICIES

What happens if I need to cancel?
For Public Events
If you notify us via email (info@paintwithlushart.com), at least 24 hours prior to the event, you will receive a studio credit to be used in the next 3 months.  Cancellations within 24 hours of class will not be given credit, please find someone to take your place.  Think of these tickets as concert tickets, a place has been saved for you.  If you do not show up for the event,  you will not receive a class credit.  Paint will be poured for you and a place will have been prepared for you, so you will forfeit your funds to cover the supplies used for you.  If the credit is not used during the 3-month credit period, then the funds would be forfeited.  We know that emergencies, sickness, and other events happen, however, the cancellation policy is in place so that we can appropriately plan our classes and space.

There are no exceptions on this policy.

For Private Events:

No refunds are available--NO EXCEPTIONS.  Upon booking your event, studio time has been reserved for your group and blocked from our calendar.
Date Change--If you would like to change the date of the event, you must notify us at least seven (7) days prior to the event and
based on availability, we will do our best to reschedule your event.

Can someone attend the class without registering?
No.  All attendees must be paid ticket holders.  No exceptions.
What is your alcohol policy?
If you plan to enjoy the full Lush experience, please bring your ID! Alcoholic drinks will not be served to anyone under the age of 21 or without proper identification.

Beer and wine (by the bottles) can be purchased in Lush Lounge before, during and after your event.

No outside alcoholic drinks are allowed at the Warner Robins studio.  Warner Robins law prohibits BYOB of alcohol.

BYOB is allowed at our Perry studio.

What if i'm late to CLASS?
If you are late and/or unable to finish your painting within our class time frame you may be asked to take it home to finish on your own time.
ARE THERE ANY GENERAL CLASS RULES?
Painting takes approximately 2 hours, some paintings are more time consuming than others, if we know it will be longer, we will show that on the website class time.  If you are late, you may have to take your painting home to finish on your own time.

Each class will post the age requirements.  Please follow those.  Minors must be accompanied with a painting adult (meaning you both have tickets), unless otherwise noted.  Classes marked 18 and over often become mature in nature on occasion and children require more attention than we can give them.  We want Lush Art to be a place adults can go to relax and be themselves without having to censor themselves. We offer kid private events.  We also occasionally have family classes that children are welcome to attend. Children are allowed to come to private events.
Is there a minimum number of participants to hold a class?
Yes! Participants are limited to 40 and we reserve the right to cancel open classes if we do not have a minimum of 6 people registered. A choice of refunds or credit will be issued in this case.
Are there any other policies I should be aware of?
When you register you are releasing Lush Art of any liability of personal property.  Acrylic paint does NOT come out of clothing once it dries.  Do not bring anything in you don't want paint on.

If you drink you are releasing Lush Art of any responsibility, and you are agreeing that you are to drink responsibly, Lush Art LLC has the right to refuse service to anyone at any time during a party without a refund.

You are also agreeing to allow the use of any photos taken during the class to be used on the website, social media, or as advertising.
What if i didn't have fun?
Lush Art strives to make sure everyone has a great experience and leaves with a painting they like.  However, due to the time and energy we put into each class, Lush Art does not provide refunds for experiences you did not enjoy.  REMEMBER we are about FUN art, not FINE art.
My child is attending a class; can i leave them?
Possibly, however, if you leave your child for a kid's event, make sure the number you give us is where you can be reached while they are in our studio.  Classes will be marked as Drop Off if this will be allowed.  The person responsible for picking your child up MUST be present BEFORE scheduled end of class.   Any child not picked up by end of class will be billed $1 per minute. This bill will be due upon receipt. If your child isn't picked up within a reasonable amount of time and we haven't heard from you, the police department will be called. (Can you tell this has happened to us before?!?)

There are no cash refunds available for gift certificates; they must be redeemed for a class (if there is an overage; it may be redeemed for partial credit towards another class).

Also, UNLESS a gift certificate states that a portion of the gift was for wine, you can't redeem it in store. It can only be used on classes booked online.  Gift codes are claimed ONLINE only to redeem unless the buyer makes an agreement with me before buying so I can attribute the funds properly.
